Nurse Jackie Season 4 Premiere Coming Soon to Showtime

If you have the premium channel, Showtime, then you are probably familiar with many of the award-winning original series Showtime airs like Weeds, Nurse Jackie, The Big C, The Borgias and Californication. I have become a huge fan of Showtime because these shows are intelligent, entertaining, well-written and superbly directed. Two new Showtime series are Shameless and House of Lies--these are sure to be hits, also. William H. Macy is brilliant as the alcoholic, dead-beat dad in Shameless, and Don Cheadle plays the womanizing narcissist Marty Kaan with ease.My favorite Showtime original series, by far, is Nurse Jackie. I cannot wait for the coming this March. An exact date has not been announced, but you can be sure that I will check the Showtime website daily to make sure I don't miss the much-anticipated Nurse Jackie Season 4 premiere. Nurse Jackie Peyton, played by Edie Falco of The Sopranos fame, is an ER nurse who is addicted to narcotic pain killers, and she will do anything she can do get her hands on the pills she so desperately needs. She is married with two little girls, but that did not stop her from having an affair with the hospital's pharmacist, Eddie, with the ulterior motive of getting free pills without a prescription. She actually ended up falling for Eddie and continued the affair for the first three seasons. Toward the end of season three, Eddie and Jackie's husband, Kevin, were actually becoming friends as Eddie began hanging out at the bar Kevin owns. Can you imagine what's going to happen when Kevin finds out his new best buddy, Eddie, has been sleeping with his wife?An intervention was attempted to get Jackie to realize the gravity of her addiction, but that went horribly awry as she insisted she did not have a problem. She was even required to give a urine sample at work due to the fact that drugs were coming up missing, but even the administrator, Gloria, covered for Jackie by throwing her urine sample in the trash in the season three finale. You must tune into the Nurse Jackie season 4 premiere on Showtime this March. The ensemble cast is delightful and hilarious, and even though this show is considered a comedy at Emmy time, the subject matter is for mature audiences. The show deals with drug addiction, infidelity, unethical behavior and has foul language. For adults, it's great television!
